Building software that protects data in the era of AI.

Working with Cyber Innovation Hub, co-founder Dirthaa encountered the rapidly growing issue of shadow AI. Introduced to Alliances, a community of security leaders across Europe and South Africa, she kept hearing the same concern from CISOs. Organisations were adopting AI at speed, but security teams had almost no visibility into how employees were actually using it, what information was being shared, or whether policy was being followed. Rather than build on assumptions, Dirthaa spent months at cybersecurity events talking directly to the people living the problem, then mapped the product, built a non-technical prototype and tested it with prospective users until their feedback crystallized what AmuletIQ needed to be.

The next challenge was finding someone who cared about the problem as much as she did. Dirthaa ran a hackathon with Cardiff University using the problem itself as the brief, and that's where she met Ben. He stood out immediately: genuinely excited by the challenge, technically sharp, and a natural leader of his team. The two agreed to a short development sprint to see what was possible, and within three weeks Ben had turned months of customer research and prototype testing into the first working version of AmuletIQ. That sprint set the pattern we still follow: listen to the people experiencing the problem, understand what they need, build, test, improve.

Today Dirthaa leads commercial strategy, customers and growth, while Ben leads technology and product, both still building alongside the security professionals and organisations facing this firsthand. What began as a question about Shadow AI has grown into a far larger ambition: to build the behavioural security layer for how people, and eventually AI agents, interact with AI at work.
